Frequently asked questions
Will CV Aligner invent experience to match the job?+
No. Every rewrite is linked to evidence in your original CV and checked by a separate validation step. Skills, tools, numbers or responsibilities that aren't supported are removed automatically. If your CV hints at something the job asks for, we ask you to confirm it instead of assuming.
How is the alignment percentage calculated?+
AI extracts the Job Description's requirements and finds the evidence in your CV. The percentage itself is computed by transparent, deterministic rules (mandatory skills 30%, experience 25%, domain 15%, tools 10%, seniority 10%, education 5%, ATS terminology 5%), so the same match always produces the same score.
Does a high score guarantee interviews?+
No. Alignment scores are estimates that help you compare your CV with a Job Description. They don't represent or guarantee the scoring used by any employer or Applicant Tracking System.
What's the difference between the three AI levels?+
Essential AI runs an open-source model on Curiosbot infrastructure, so your CV isn't sent to a third-party AI provider. Smart AI (Google Gemini Flash) balances quality and speed. Expert AI (Anthropic Claude Opus) gives the deepest reasoning and rewriting. You'll always see which provider processes your data before you start.
What happens to my CV?+
Your files are stored privately under random identifiers. Guest uploads are deleted automatically after 24 hours. You can delete any CV, Job Description, optimized version or your entire account at any time.
Which file types are supported?+
CVs: PDF or DOCX up to 10 MB. Job Descriptions: paste text, or upload PDF, DOCX or TXT. Scanned PDFs can be read with OCR. Optimized CVs download as DOCX and PDF; DOCX uploads keep their original layout where possible.
